My friend Jeanne, a staunch daughter of the Church, a good and delightful and ironic person, nonetheless had the season pegged: “Christmas is at our throats again!” she would exclaim, before plunging into the last minute rush, the shopping, the cooking, the traveling, the myriad details to attend to before the celebration.
