Two Feet of Snow in New York City —

and here’s the evidence:

The work of a whimsical unknown artist, posted on Facebook by cousin Ellyn — which is where I came upon it. Maybe the resulting smiles lightened some of the snowy load for overburdened New Yorkers, who faced stoppages of trains, buses, planes —  even garbage pickup.

A familiar enough phenomenon here in the Berkshires: BIG SNOW, which doesn’t stop trains or planes, perhaps because we don’t have any. Buses, maybe. And the garbage gets picked up (mostly) and the mail goes through, because the snowplows do ditto, and so do we. This is New England, guys.

Funny. Yes, it takes a lot to shut down our city, too; I’m grateful for all of the hard-working people who make that so!
