Sick of shoveling shoveling shoveling snow? Here’s a real treat, and heaven knows those of us in the Northeast US deserve one. Sit down, rest your weary bones a while, close your eyes and just listen. Like just-sitting, shikan-taza. Just sit, just listen, nothing to look at, just hearing the words: Billy Collins reading his poem, Shoveling Snow with Buddha.
Simply beautiful. I adore having things read to me; this was lovely. The imagery is powerful; and the voice, soothing.

So glad you liked it! He is certainly my favorite living poet, and right at the top of all my favorites. It turns out there are a lot of Youtubes of him reading; you can sample some. See if you can find “Purity,” either Youtube or text. I plan to use it in some context at some point. Would wonder what you think of it.
