Everything’s been all “hon and dearie” (as my mother used to say) with the weather in Tucson. Sun shining, blue sky, warm breeze. Envy of the East.
But everything changed today. We had cloudy, we had stiff wind, we had blowing dust, we had dark clouds. We even had a raindrop, or two, or twelve. Mother Nature does her thing without regard for her children! But the sun, not to be overcome, finally appeared just at its setting time, and here’s the dramatic change of mood from yesterday captured on my Canon:
If J.M.W. Turner were alive and well and living today out in Arizona —- his kind of sky.
Or Ansel Adams! What a gorgeous color the light is!

“Mood Shift” is a great title for this picture. I can feel the contrast; powerful.

Thanks, mesdames.
MOST of the day was gray and windy and dusty and gloomy.
But these ten minutes or so pulled it out.

Thanks, Rebekah. Today we have no light at all, it’s gray and rainy. In sunny Tucson — I fear we brought it with us from the Berkshires.

Are you on vacation there in AZ?

We’re here for a month of R&R after selling our house and moving into a new one over the mountains an hour away all in 5 1/2 weeks. The sun was helping, but for several days now it’s been struggling against overcast, and today was defeated by wind and rain — so rare in Arizona at this season! I hope we didn’t bring it along in our luggage, but one never knows.

How nice … assuming that R&R means rest and relaxation. So … when you go back, it will be to your new place?!

Yes, and to the roughly 83 boxes still unpacked. Doing the blogs is a welcome respite from the work 🙂

When we moved from Quebec to here, two years ago, we gave away most stuff in the way of furniture, but came away with 72 boxes.
I was elated — sort of, on a ‘high’, because of this move, so I unpacked them in no time. Wish sometimes that that type of energy could come back 😕

Yeah, and where are the snows of yesteryear?

The clouds, wind and sprinkles of rain make those precious few minutes of sunlight even more appreciated. I am glad you are able to enjoy a little R&R. I hope that the sunlight returns and continues to fill your Tucson sky.
Thank you for sharing the beautiful picture with us! I always enjoy seeing a view of the world other people are fortunate enough to experience! 🙂
