I can only agree. Onward!
Managed to avoid most of it yesterday, even almost avoided the subject in my blog. I get so exhausted … emotionally. But wouldn’t you know … turned on the TV to watch some news in the evening, and came right in to where they played Taps so I went into another room and cried and cried… I will not dwell any more.

The time comes to turn to other things —
But memory does remain as well.
This is the second time today I find myself saying this:
The Roman god Janus is more important than his minor status would indicate —
The god of beginnings and endings, with his double face, presiding over the New Year — for me symbolizes the need all of us have to look back remembering, mourning, if need be, to weep — but also to look forward to the future, to possibilities, to burgeoning joy —
Both! Not one or the other —
Speaking of past and future — I think of your soon-to-happen trip to Sweden! May you experience all the joys, all the emotions, all the fulfillment that visiting past and envisioning future can bring —

Look back, remembering with the future in mind. Look forward, keeping the past in memory. Look around and do what you can to make things better now.

Beautiful way you put it, making it easy to keep in memory (BIG virtue for me) and practical as well —
And so true! Prose poetry, P.

…if I may just add this: I love the picture. As a child, I would have seen the windows as eyes, haunting me and scaring. The haunting prevails but now combines with the delight in this picture’s beauty and clarity.
