It’s been one of those days.
I’ve been dragging my feet, er, fingers. What’s the point of my blogging? All these wonderful creative clever gorgeous and innovative blogs, and here I am, just going along down the same old streets, same old, same old, blah blah blah —
I think lots of people are familiar with the mood I’m talking about. Color me blue. And then my husband sent me (from his computer in the other room), of all things, a commercial! Done by the BBC. He said it was wonderful. How wonderful could a commercial be?
Wonderful enough to turn around my mood, to transform the blue into something else, something more the color of hope and wonder. Try it for yourself, even if you don’t need it today:

Oh, I’m familiar alright … with that feeling, but that you, of all people, would question your blogging …?! You, who write so well, and always intelligent, thoughtful posts! lol J – that’s a question only you can answer. There must be a payoff in it somewhere; generally we humans don’t do things unless there’s something in it for us (often hidden so dig deep). We are at once individual and collective. There are people who come to read here that love your posts for their creativity and to revel in your ability to verbalize what many of us just think about. Don’t count quantity my dear; count quality 🙂

When it comes to quality — I KNOW my blog visitors are the BEST.
Creative in responses, great “conversationalists” — and at the end of the day, the conversation is what I do the blog FOR.
But (I guess like most modern people) the numbers game does get to me from time to time —
I should just avert my eyes from the “followers” when I’m reading OPB (other people’s blogs)

There is no reason for you to feel blue or have self doubt about your blog, it’s amazing! I do understand because I often think people must just be being nice when I read lovely comment about my writing and have to keep on telling myself I’m okay. This video is probably my all time favourite and I love the song even spoken, the BBC at its best. Thanks, keep on doing what you do so well 🙂

It certainly is comforting. Some months back when I was dragging my fingers over blogging, the husband told me to simply blog for myself. And I did. I blogged only when I felt like it and took the rest of the time off from wordpress. After a while, blogging became fun again. I hope you get over your rough days soon and have a great week ahead! 😀

I guess we all have these days when we ask ourselves about our direction, and it can get a bit frustrating if we realize we are just not satisfied without being able to say what, then, would satisfy us.

I had to think about your comment for a while, before I realized, Of course! That’s exactly the problem. What WOULD satisfy us?
For instance — to have a goal of encouraging conversation, as I do, is not compatible with having zillions of followers, which I so often think is my goal. Or should be.
I am envious of those “big” blogs, and jealous, and discouraged — but would that satisfy me? ‘Fraid not.
No wonder Socrates made such a big fuss about Know Thyself!!!!!!! Thanks for the reminder.
